Bret Michaels hospitalized with hemorrhage

LOS ANGELES – Bret Michaels is in critical condition suffering from a brain hemorrhage, his publicist said Friday. Joann Mignano, Michaels' New York-based publicist, confirmed a report on People magazine's website that said the former Poison frontman was rushed to intensive care late Thursday after a severe headache. The report said doctors discovered bleeding at the base of his brain stem. Mignano said tests are being conducted but did not know where he was being treated. The 47-year-old glam-rock reality TV star had an emergency appendectomy at a private care facility for diabetics last week after complaining of stomach pains before he was scheduled to perform at Sea World in San Antonio, Texas. Michaels later wrote on his website that though the surgery "has taken its toll," doctors expected him to make a full recovery. Michaels is currently a contestant on the third season of Donald Trump's NBC competitive reality show, "The Celebrity Apprentice." For the first six episodes, Michaels served as a lighting rod for the show's male team, avoiding being fired in the boardroom. Trump said in a statement Friday that he was "deeply saddened" to hear of Michaels' condition. "He's a great competitor and champion, and I hope he will be fine," Trump said. Before joining "The Celebrity Apprentice," Michaels starred as the lothario on VH1's lusty reality dating series "Rock of Love" from 2007 to 2009. For three seasons, Michaels searched for the women of his dreams amid a sea of implants, tattoos and thongs. He also served as a judge on the fifth season of the USA singing competition "Nashville Star" in 2007.

Christina Aguilera and Grace Jones Say 'No, Thanks' To Lady Gaga Comparisons

Two legendary pop stars have jumped on an anti-Gaga bandwagon: Both Christina Aguilera and Grace Jones were recently compared to the "Paparazzi" prima donna, and it seems neither singer is particularly happy about the news.
Former Mickey Mouse Clubber Aguilera is set to release a new album, "Bionic," in June, her first in four years. The album's first single, "Not Myself Tonight," has been getting radio play for the past few weeks, and many who have heard it compared the synthetic beats and breathy vocals to the music of Lady Gaga.
Christina shrugged off the comparisons, explaining that it's all part of the business. She told the Bert Show on Q100 in Atlanta Tuesday morning: "It just comes with the territory. That, in particular, is not even worth wasting the breath to comment on. I've been around for over a decade and I think my work speaks for myself."
Christina's been getting Gaga comparisons ever since the Fame Monster artist arrived on the scene. In 2008, Aguilera admitted that she wasn't even really aware of Lady Gaga, telling the LA Times: "I'm not quite sure who this person is, to be honest. I don't know if it is a man or a woman. I just wasn't sure. I really don't spend any time on the Internet, so I guess I live a little under a rock in that respect."
Legendary singer, actress, and model Grace Jones has some Gaga resemblances to contend with as well, though she's accusing the pop star of copying her look. The complaints came after Gaga reportedly asked Jones to work on a collaboration. Jones turned the singer down, explaining to The Guardian: "I'd just prefer to work with someone who is more original and someone who is not copying me, actually."
Grace became a fashion icon in the late '70s, perfecting an outrageous personal style that includes hoods, collars, and body paint - all things that have come to represent Lady Gaga as well. Jones, a former Bond girl and Warhol muse, thinks the similarities are more than just coincidental. "I've seen some things she's worn that I've worn," she told The Guardian. "And that does kind of piss me off."
And how about Gaga's talent? About the music, Grace said, simply: "I wouldn't go to see her."
